Starling and her baby, Phoenix, were found as strays living outside a homeless shelter near ARFhouse in Texas. This sweet girl arrived with a hip out of its socket and heartworm positive. We have to wait until she puts on some weight before doing surgery and treating her for heartworm disease. She weighed 22 pounds when she arrived a couple weeks ago, and has since put on a few pounds and needs to gain several more. Her obvious neglect has not affected her disposition at all. She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them, not letting her bad hip slow her down at all.
