ARFhouse volunteers spotted Mimosa in the park on a Sunday morning, scavenging for garbage and frightened of anyone who approached her. They gradually won her trust with tasty treats, and soon discovered why she was so ravenously hungry: she was nursing a litter of puppies, just one week old. Mimosa is a wonderful, protective mother, keeping close watch over her babies. The puppies are fully vetted and ready for adoption… and Miss Mimosa is ready to start a new life too! Now that the pups have grown, and good nutrition has helped her fill out to a healthy weight again, we suspect we’ll see her frisking and playing like the puppy she still is at heart.
