Dill and his siblings arrived as puppies in August 2008. He was adopted in October 2008. In early April 2011, we received a call from Animal Care and Control because, after nearly three years in a home, he was dumped there, at risk of being euthanized. Dill was so excited when a volunteer from ARFhouse picked him up from Animal Care and Control. He saw the leash and started jumping for joy! He could not wait to get out the door to sniff around and be near his cherished human friends. Dill has never learned good manners with other dogs, so he would be suited to a home as an only dog. This super-friendly dog is looking for a second chance, a family that will truly give him unconditional love.

URGENT UPDATE 1.25.2012
Dill’s time in Chicago is almost up. We have been unable to find him an adoptive family or a foster home where he can be an only pet. His boarding is extremely expensive; more importantly, boarding is not a long-term solution for the emotional health of a sweet, sociable dog like Dill. We are seeking an emergency foster home who can commit to caring for Dill until he gets adopted.

ARFhouse Chicago is honored to have an affiliation with ARFhouse in Sherman, Texas, a rural sanctuary providing lifelong security for its animals. It is a wonderful resource for dogs who are not well-suited to life in a home. But for an affectionate dog like Dill, being confined to an outdoor run without daily human companionship is heartbreaking.

Dill is just three years old. Please, don’t let him spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement. Finding him a local foster home would buy him his final chance to be adopted into a loving family. Please help. Email info@arfhousechicago.org right away. If you can’t adopt or foster, won’t you tell a friend?
