We would love your help to increase the number of foster homes so that we can save more dogs! Being a foster parent is very rewarding, and makes a life-changing impact on a rescued animal. There are two ways you can help foster:
10-Day Quarantine: Animals who arrive at ARFhouse from Animal Care and Control must remain in foster care for a 10-day period before they can go to our boarding facility. In this case, your commitment will only be for those 10 days. Many times, the animal will already have an application before your commitment ends.
Until Adopted: Because ARFhouse Chicago does not have a facility of our own, we rely on foster homes to house our animals. We have limited space at our boarding facility, so the more foster families we have, the more pets we can rescue. Living in a foster home helps prepare animals for adoption. They learn about daily routines, and get important practice at being a member of a family—so that when their adopter comes along, your foster animal already knows the ropes of being a great companion!
We encourage you to read the stories that previous and current foster parents have to offer about their experience.
