Give them more to be thankful for!

ARFhouse Chicago would like to wish you a wonderful holiday season! Thanks to your support, this year we celebrate over 650 animals adopted since our shelter first opened.
    This year:
This year at ARFhouse 76 dogs were adopted into forever homes. And 2 rabbits, too!
This year at ARFhouse 25 were “hard to place” dogs: those whose advanced age, breed or health condition makes them more difficult candidates for adoption from most shelters.
This year at ARFhouse Fewer dogs were admitted than in 2010, due to unexpected medical costs.
This year at ARFhouse Our animals required $14,800 in surgeries, and $6,250 in other specialized treatments – that’s more than $21,000 invested in our animals, over and above the routine veterinary care that each one receives.
What can your gifts to ARFhouse Chicago do? They can open up a door, for an animal with nowhere else to go.

An animal like Paisley, who was found laying down to rest in the middle of the road.

Paisley was exhausted, too hungry and tired to run away when a stranger approached to help her. Eventually she let him reach out, slip a collar on, and lead her to his home – where she slept for twelve hours, knowing she was safe at last. Her new friend contacted ARFhouse Chicago for help.

Paisley settled peacefully into the pack at her new foster home. Always waiting her turn, grateful for every kindness. A trip to the vet showed that she had been kept outside and used for breeding. Now she had full bowls of food, tasted a dog treat, cuddled up to sleep in a bed – all for the first time.

This holiday season, we at ARFhouse are so thankful that we have helped place 76 dogs into loving homes this year… including Paisley. We’re even more thankful that when a dog like Paisley needed us, our doors were open. Thank you for your generosity that makes it possible.
We look forward to helping even more animals in 2012!

Our aim is to place 100 dogs, cats and rabbits into homes in the year ahead—and with your donation, we can make it a very happy holiday for those animals and the families waiting to find them!
